finally

without internet access at home, or the ability to utilize the internet at the office - i haven't had the opportunity to post anything on my blog for awhile. to start where my last posting leaves off, my brother is doing just fine. he's back on his harley so all is well.
my new job is going very well. extremely busy and at times i feel like i'm just barely keeping my head above water. still adjusting to corporate america - i don't think i will ever get completely used to it. generally speaking i create communication pieces - brochures, flyers, books, newsletters, email templates - that go directly to the participants of our retirement plans. needless to say i know more about retirement than i ever thought possible.
ryan is doing well. actually at his office right now. he's checking out some gear to a couple college kids hoping to go out west on a wildfire this summer. considering they've never even been on a prescribed burn, ryan's thoroughly explaining how a wildfire detail works and what to bring. ryan himself is hoping to go on a wildfire detail within the next month. he's very anxious to get out from behind his desk at the office.
june came and went in a hurry. we welcomed a new nephew - calvin james on june 20 thanks to ryan's sister and brother-in-law. they live in the city, it's great to have them so close.
also in june we made an offer on a house. they countered for a little extra money to leave the washer and dryer and we accepted. we tentatively close july 20 and take possession july 22. so this week begins the long process of packing. we wrote our very last rent check this month. it was great! very much looking forward to being a home owner. we love going to home improvement stores now. we're always day dreaming of things we can do. we're already planning on adding another stall to the garage - it's only one car now. and a sliding glass door to the patio is in the future as well. lots of fun. we're anxiously waiting to move in.
otherwise, things are pretty much the same. gus is doing well after we found out he has lyme's disease. not that you could tell - he's still a ball of energy and very much loves to play.
life is good.
