gotta hate genetics

Well, my family history of heart disease has gotten more messed up. My brother had a heart attack last week. Actually he's had two prior to this but the doctors saw a 26 year old and didn't think it could possibly be heart trouble so they sent him home with acid reflux. But last wednesday it was definitely a heart attack. He had triple by-pass on Saturday morning. We waited in the same waiting room as we did when mom had her bypass done. There was more fluid in his lungs than they thought and part of his lung collapsed in surgery. When they took him off the respirator he had trouble breathing and so they had him use a mask that helps him breathe. I just talked to my mom and she said he's not using the mask anymore and they're thinking he'll be up and walking around tonight. Hopefully he'll be able to come home the end of this week. Pretty hard to see your big brother like that. But he's making great strides compared to how he was the last couple days.
Needless to say I made an appointment to get my cholesterol checked. Pretty sad considering I'm not even 25 yet.
